GENERAL CURRICULUM

THE FIRST 2 YEARS COMPRISE A COMPREHENSIVE PREPARATORY PROGRAMME

During the first 2 years, students build a foundation of scientific and human knowledge that will serve their skills as engineers.

In addition to the coursework itself, they are taught learning skills and how to organise their work, to give them every chance to succeed. Students take courses in basic science and engineering science, plus two foreign languages and introductory business courses before their first internship.

3RD YEAR: OVERVIEW OF EPF'S ENGINEERING FIELDS

From the 3rd year, there is a twofold objective: consolidating the general foundation and transitioning towards the student's major.

During this time, EPF also offers students:

  • lessons on the professional tools they will need in their Engineering internship the following term
  • an elective project
  • introductory coursesla maîtrise d’outils professionnels les préparant au stage Elève-Ingénieur de la période suivante

At the end of this time, students should be able to make an informed decision about their major. They will have had enough time to determine their preferences and interest in a specific field.

The "keys" they build up during this general training will open the doors to their future, giving them greater prospects for success in their chosen field.

EXAMS

During the first 3 years of coursework, students are given regular exams to test their progress.

An average of 12/20 is required to pass on to the next year.
Students must also earn 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits each year
