Apprentissage EPF

ENGINEER training to manage industrial companies' performance improvement by steering industrial organisation and information systems

Since 2009, EPF has introduced an apprenticeship course degree track programme, to train engineers who are close to the field and capable of managing and organising the economic, financial, human and technical aspects of a project. Their scope of action combines information systems and industrial organisation.

What job families do APPRENTICESHIP courses prepare for?

This programme orients EPF engineers towards several different professional environments (industrial, service, etc.) to prepare them for work as project managers, production engineers, product qualification engineers, quality/investment engineers, managing engineers, consultants, etc.

This programme aims to endow engineers with cross-disciplinary skills, including how to deal with increasingly paperless industrial organisation and to manage complex supply chains and their underlying information systems, primarily large software packs (ERP, PLM, CRM, SCM).

It receives support from the Ile de France Region and works in partnership with the region's ITII (Institut des Techniques d’Ingénieur de l’Industrie - Industrial Engineering Technical Institute) and the GIM (Groupement des Industries Métallurgiques) with support from SYNTEC Informatique.

Several corporations have provided support for this programme, including: PSA, L'Oréal, SAFRAN, Thales, Renault Trucks, IBM, and more.

EPF's apprenticeship curriculum is based on its experience with French-German training and with the Industrial and Logistics Engineering and Management of Information Technology and Communication specialisations which have a combined total of 100 graduates each year.

THE PROGRAMME'S OBJECTIVES

Academic Apprenticeship Courses at EPF

Over the three years of the programme, students acquire the theoretical and conceptual knowledge that will serve them over their career, and the technical knowledge they will need on the job.
Students develop the capacity for synthesis and abstract thinking as well as scientific curiosity.  The programme includes traditional courses and lab work in EPF's laboratories or technical platforms, in addition to project work that stimulates their curiosity and capacity for synthesis. It develops their general skills through study abroad, relational management, and more.
Plus, students get to use high-tech computing equipment and software and have access to a language resource centre and media resource centres.

On-the-Job Learning

tudents take part in on-the-job training throughout the programme. The main ideas of this training are given in the training agreement signed by the student, their course advisor and their academic tutor at EPF.
On the job, students develop the following skills:

General skills:

  • Gathering information and using the data needed to resolve the issues at hand.
  • Writing summary reports on their work and training.
  • Working effectively and showing an engineer's attitude.
  • Organising and steering their efforts with co-workers.

Practical skills:

  • Meeting the industrial objectives of the work.
  • Using the tools and methods appropriate for the work.
  • Producing high-quality technical work that meets the company's specifications.

The following companies hosted EPF students in 2009:
PSA, SAFRAN, EUROCOPTER, EDF, THALES Electronics, BULL, CEGELEC, SIEMENS Transport, etc...

Note: The Apprenticeship programme is only available to student living or with a residency permit (delivered at least 1 year ago) in France (with the equivalent of the french Bac+2 / Bac +3) and speaking french.
