AT LEAST ONCE SEMESTER'S EXPERIENCE ABROAD
The educational organisation under the European "LMD" system brings EPF's curriculum into line with those of top foreign universities, making international exchange easier.
By going abroad with EPF, students can perfect their command of a foreign language, improve their CVs and attend foreign universities with world-renowned departments. On top of this, they develop their personality (independence, adaptability, understanding and respect for others, tolerance, etc.), in line with what companies are looking for today, in the 21st century.
Students may do internships or spend semesters studying abroad, under bilateral agreements signed with around 100 universities in Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and South-East Asia. Currently, more than 30% of internships are done abroad.
EPF is a member of the following organisations and networks: ERASMUS (Socrates), n+i, GE4 and CREPUQ. EPF belongs to the CampusFrance agency.
TWO MANDATORY FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Engineering students are required to study 2 foreign languages, including mandatory English. Other languages include German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese. This selection may vary according to demand and between Sceaux and Troyes.
To obtain their engineering degree, EPF students must:
- get at least B2 level (815 points on the TOEIC) at the end of their studies ;
- spend at least one semester abroad.
These requirements put EPF in line with companies' demands and with CTI's (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur) recommendations.
DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMMES
With mutual assistance and openness in mind, EPF cooperates with a number of universities worldwide. The best example of this international cooperation is our international double degree programmes with partners abroad. These double programmes involve coursework on two different sites, alternating according to the year, that lead to an engineering degree from EPF and a top-level foreign degree.
Starting in their first year, engineering students can sign up for long-term bi-national programmes. The French-German programme with the Munich Hochschule (HM) is accessible by post-secondary admission and is the only double degree programme accredited by CTI. It leads to a French engineering degree and a German Master's in engineering;
Other double-degree programmes are accessible as part of EPF's generalist curriculum:
- FRENCH-SPANISH with the Basque University in Bilbao (Spain)
- FRENCH-CANADIAN with Université de Chicoutimi (Quebec)
- FRENCH-MEXICAN with the TEC of Monterrey (Mexico)
EPF also offers a bi-national programme in cooperation with Université de Sherbrooke, in Quebec.
EPF is a member of the n+i network, which gives our students access to 18 double degrees in 9 other countries (such as India, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea).
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT EPF
EPF's international policy also involves admitting international students from partner universities for one to 4 semesters, as part of exchange or double degree programmes, or during winter and summer sessions: remedial and intensive French courses for Engineers (French as a foreign language), in partnership with ESTP.
EPF has more than 15% international students. The Melting Potes association helps their integration at the school.
