Each academic year is divided into two semesters – the 1st from September to end January and the 2nd from February to end June.

During the first three years, some courses may last 2 semesters; in these cases, each semester covers a specific topic (topics covered in part 1 of the 1st semester will be completed by the end of the 1st semester, and will not go on into the 2nd semester, so that exchange students who attend for only one semester can study the entire topic).

5th year major courses are covered in the 1st semester (September to end December). Exams are given the week before Christmas break. Students who only stay one semester will finish their classes before Christmas.
